Apastor who was invited to pray for Donald Trump in the Oval Office believes the US President is a Christian and is ‘God’s man’ for America. South African Rodney Howard-Browne spoke exclusively to iBelieve magazine days after his ‘surreal’ encounter in President Trump’s office. “I believe the President has given his life to the Lord,” Howard-Browne said. “He’s very supportive of the Church and loves God. There’s not even a question in my mind that he is God’s man to bring change to America.” Howard-Browne and his wife Adonica were joined by 25 other Christian leaders in the impromptu White House gathering. He added: “We had been meeting with key people in the administration from 9.30am until 4.30pm and suddenly Vice President Mike Pence came in and told us that the President would like to see us. We were escorted into the West Wing and into the Oval Office.

“Pastor Paula White-Cain asked another minister to pray and then she turned to me. I prayed a short prayer and asked for God’s supernatural protection upon the President. I asked that Almighty God speak to him and give him grace for the days ahead. I then began to pray for another Great Awakening in America. The presence of God was evident. President Trump then spoke to us about some confidential matters and we said our goodbyes. “It was a surreal meeting. My wife and I came to this nation as missionaries 30 years ago with $300 to our name. To be asked, along with the other pastors, to lay hands on and pray for the most powerful man in the world was just amazing.” Immediately after news of the meeting broke, media outlets were critical of Trump with some commentators mocking him for receiving prayer.
