Speedy Christian Wade, 34, has stunned fans by swapping Gloucester for Wigan Warriors in a shock code-switch he says was guided by God.
Just weeks ago, Wade was dazzling in the Gallagher Premiership, bagging two tries for Gloucester against Northampton. Now, the one-time England winger has debuted in rugby league, turning out for Wigan’s reserves in a 56-10 thrashing of Castleford.
“I think I’m going to enjoy it here,” Wade told loverugbyleague.com.
He says the switch was “calculated” and prayed over: “I’ve thought about it long and hard after consulting my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
“I have a very tight circle and really believe in making the most of the talents that God gave me."
