We Need To Learn How To Dream
What would you do if you knew you couldn’t fail? If nothing was impossible for you? If resources were never a restriction? If you never had to say ‘We can’t do that because…’
We all have to keep ourselves rooted in reality, but I reckon that one of our greatest needs today is to learn how to dream. To be able to look beyond what is – and see what might be.
My Call Is For The Heroes To Stand Up
Every great story of business success begins with someone trying to do something that can’t be done. Every great church was founded by people who wouldn’t take ‘no’ for an answer. Think of the great Bible stories of men and women who heard from God and believed for a miracle when everyone around them was keeping their heads down. Try rewriting the Bible without the likes of Joseph, Daniel and David and you’ll end up with a pretty thin book. It is the heroes that we remember – not the thousands who might have been.
And so today my call is for the heroes to stand up. Where are the men and women of faith who can see a better tomorrow? Those who simply can’t live any longer with the way our nation is today. Those who believe it when the Lord Jesus says, “I am with you always…” Those who take seriously the command that we are to go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.
The Greatest Story, or Twaddle or Worse
Great Britain is desperate for a new generation of heroes to stand up. And if we believe the Bible, they come in all shapes and sizes. And they should certainly include me and you!
My continual prayer for those in church leadership throughout our nation is that they will enjoy greater confidence in the gospel and become bolder in their faith. Christianity is either the greatest story ever told, or it is twaddle or worse.
