Rapper Shares His New-Found Faith
Rapper and global music icon Kanye West has revealed his faith in God after releasing his new album ‘Jesus is King’ – which has catapulted to success across the world.
West – who has long wrestled with faith in his lyrics, including early songs such as ‘Jesus Walks’ – has now found God. And he is even leading his own church gatherings called Sunday Service.
The man who once described himself as the ‘greatest living human’ said: “Now that I’m in service to Christ, my job is to spread the gospel, to let people know what Jesus has done for me. I’ve spread a lot of things. There was a time I was letting you know what high fashion had done for me, I was letting you know what the Hennessey had done for me, but now I’m letting you know what Jesus has done for me, and in that I’m no longer a slave, I’m a son now, a son of God. I’m free.”
The pivotal moment in West’s journey came when he was hospitalised in 2016 for temporary psychosis and sleep deprivation, a time where God would intervene and bring a new lease of life.
