CHURCHES TO LAY DIFFERENCES ASIDE FOR 2008 INITIATIVE
HUNDREDS of churches in the UK are laying their differences to one side as part of a massive initiative to help their communities next year.
Churches, Christian groups and other organisations, such as the police and local councils, are planning to work together in community projects as part of a major campaign, called Hope08.
Its aim is to see hundreds of volunteers embark on initiatives such as park clean-ups and charity events.

NEW YEAR WATER HANDOUT TO LAUNCH YEAR OF ‘HOPE’
NEW Year’s Eve revellers in Glasgow will be given bottles of water and ‘Hope’ from city churches that are teaming up to work together throughout 2008.
The churches have organised The Big Water Handout as part of a new project – called Hope08 – which will see denominations laying aside differences to work more closely together next year.

NEW YEAR BALLOONS LAUNCH INITIATIVE
CHURCHES across Loughborough will be launching balloons on New Year’s Day to signal the start of a year-long initiative across the community.
Dozens of people from churches of all denominations will come together at the Market Place to launch the balloons as part of plans to work alongside each other throughout the year.
